The Microwave process begins to continue. With the formation of regular meetings and a collection of like minded individuals the process of forcing tracks out of people has developed into a means of constant music production. An open environment every Tuesday, expectations set low as usual. What we’ve proved is this: If you gather a bunch of musicians and force creativity they will default out something that still represents the feeling of the room. Once you’ve done it a few times at long last fear stops motivating and the spirit of exploration guides action! Or the spirit of humour which it just as good.

We aimed to make a track every Tuesday, and given proper love and attention (production) even our hurried efforts bore fruit. With love and attention these wonderful selection have been polished to a near shine allowing all of you to join in the joy of microwave! Each piece is hand tailored to express the shear need for expression felt by the performers on that day. Improvisation is always the name of the game and as usual retake are deeply discouraged leaving us with a representation of the very burgeoning moments of a musical idea. The difference this time being a larger group bouncing ideas off each other. After a few weeks we had a group of regulars call Microwave Tuesdays home.

This is a way for musicians to create something without the usual hangups about quality and allow them to focus on running with their first or second idea. Every artist has some amount of writers block, and Microwave as a method seeks to circumvent that by allowing performance to be the main driver behind decision making and letting production and the building of each step at a time inform our decisions. Rather than explore larger outward ideas the intent is to figure out where ones creativity defaults to and make use of it. Nothing is truly forced and everything is more or less a suggestion.
