about

Rebuilt and returning.
The original point to this project was to make something musical without the pressure of taking it to seriously. With the first 4 in 2016 we accomplished that, and in the process discovered the true liberation of managing to create a real finished product. (For various interpretations of "finished")

Time passed, memories were formed and that was that.
Until Early September of 2018, I started pouring whatever I could manage into my recording interface again and worked out some polish skills and changed format a bit.

Through the same philosophy that drove Ben and I to make the first 4 after two months I'm proud to present the next generation: Microwave 5!

The tracks are shorter, more concise and some not entirely minimal time has been spent editing and carving all these sounds into something I believe is internally coherent. Each track is a start to finish following through on an interesting sound or concept. All seven tracks were written and recorded with usually one 6-10 hour session. Usually alone but three times with a like minded session player.

Nate Rivers on most of the sounds for "River Slam" and "River Jam"

Syd Flowers as the mellow bass and even more mellow voice on "Excerpt from The Joy of Cooking"

Special Thanks to Alec German and Wyatt Dusome for living with me and letting me use their arsenal of gear to fulfill this vision.
